Alpha: What's involved?
The evening Alpha course begins with supper, followed by a talk. We then divide into smaller groups for coffee and dessert to discuss any questions raised from the talk. The talks address some of the following questions:
Why did Jesus die?
How can I be sure of my faith?
Why and how should I read the Bible?
Why and how should I pray?
How does God guide me?
Who is the Holy Spirit?
What does the Holy Spirit do?
How can I be filled with the Spirit?
How can I resist evil?
Why and how should I tell others?
Does God heal today?
What about the Church?
How can I make the most of the rest of my life?
There is an opportunity to go on a weekend away. This has been a key part of the Alpha course and a great success in helping people get to know each other.
