Our
Sunday School uses Group Publishing's FaithWeaver
curriculum. All the kids from Toddlers through Senior High explore
the Bible through lessons that are REAL (Relational, Experiential,
Applicable, and Learner-based). This curriculum is designed to open
up the classroom to interactive learning, so that the students can
build strong relationships with each other, teachers, and parents
through the Word of God. Activities in the lesson help them experience
the verse as well as hear it.
Each class uses the same Bible story for the day,
with different activities and discussion questions based upon the
age of the class. This becomes more applicable to the students'
lives because it is taken outside the church doors as well. Parents
have access to weekly devotions to do at home with their kids, building
on the lesson from that previous Sunday. Since each child will have
explored the same story, the whole family has a chance to continue
studying together. We hope this stimulates good dinner-table conversations
about the Bible!
Our
teachers are volunteers who love kids and Jesus. They're trained
by our Children's Ministries' Director and Sunday School Board.
As part of this training, they sign
Christian
Education Covenant forms to ensure that church is a safe, loving
place for our kids.
Please
note: During the summer months through Labor Day, NPC holds one
worship service at 10 am. Childcare for babies and toddlers is available
during the service. Children Pre-K to Grade 2 go into the sanctuary
with their parents and, after the Blessing of the Children, they
proceed to Children's Worship at 10:15. Older children remain in
the sanctuary for the service. Complete Sunday School programming
resumes on the Sunday after Labor day. Please feel free to contact
us with any questions.
