Mentoring at the Bridge House, Framingham, MA
Mentoring is a ministry opportunity for mature men who are willing to give a portion of their time (usually on weekends) to residents of The Bridge House residential substance abuse recovery program. It is not an opportunity to preach or counsel residents, but rather to befriend them and model what it means to be a spiritual man. Training is available. For more information contact Tom Stevens at (508) 872-6194, ext. 105.
Bringing Christmas to Families of Prisoners - Project Angel Tree
Project Angel Tree is a program of Prison Fellowship that NPC has been part of for years. In this program, churches buy presents for the children of prisoners, from the incarcerated parent. Each year we expect to buy presents for 45 - 50 children. Each child receives three gifts: at least one gift is something to wear; at least one gift is something to play with. The other gift is either a toy or clothing.
Hosting Foreign Students - Humphrey Scholars, Boston University
A long-time tradition at NPC, hosting a Humphrey Scholar is a commitment to befriend a foreign student and his or her family while they are participating in the Humphrey Fellowship program at BU. Participants have their fellow to their homes/lives, to do something together, once each semester. If you are home for Thanksgiving, you are encouraged to include your fellow in your Thanksgiving dinner. This is a great family opportunity! Contact Sally DeJean at 617-969-7054.
