Deacons
Deacons serve the church body by supporting and
caring for our community, as well as providing logistical support
of our worship services. Some specific tasks include:
Benevolent Fund
- overseeing the distribution of payments from the fund to those
in need, also refers to resources for those in need.
Communion - ensuring that supplies are available and overseeing
preparation of the elements and clean-up by the entire Deacon Board.
Coffee - purchasing supplies
and preparing the coffee and food table for the 10:00 am and 12:15
coffee hours. Coffee Hour Hosting - coordinating congregation members
who sign up to provide snacks during the coffee hour.
Ushers - enlists members of the congregation to serve.
Meal Ministry - orchestrating the delivery of meals to
new mothers and those in need.
Visitation - working
with Kevin Campbell to visit the homebound and ill.
Lunches - preparing and serving food at these quarterly
all-church meals, as well as cleaning up.
Publications - ordering and displaying the Care Note publications
in the case between the front office and vestry.
Card Ministry - sending cards to congregation members in
need.
Home Service Day - a new part of our ministry: we will coordinate a biannual event to help people around their homes with duties they can not perform themselves because of age or disability, also providing fellowship.
