Born and raised in what is officially considered "the sticks", John grew up in Hartford, ME. Soon realizing he was doomed to live in a "house with wheels" if he stayed in Maine, he jumped ship and went halfway around the globe…to Quincy, MA and Eastern Nazarene College. There he studied things like thrift stores, Mario Kart, every song by John Mayer, Snipe, and intramural sports until graduating in 2004 with a B.A. in Psychology. He then spent 2 summers and many a weekend during the winter working at Camp Berea, as both counselor and program team member. There he eventually met Tracy Johnson, who told John about Newton and, to make a long story short, God sent John to Newton (and vice versa). He currently lives in Braintree with 3 roommates, all ENC alums. If you want to see his eyes light up with interest, ask him about Ellie, Dr. Thunder, Spider-man, or Settlers of Catan.
